On Creativity

Henri Matisse once said, "creativity takes courage", as a process artist creativity is the easy part, the act of making becomes a history and dialogue within each piece providing more substance and depth to the the work.  The hard part is pushing through the difficult times even when nothing seems to be working, and the courage comes when you put your work out for the world to see and open yourself up to criticism.
