Inspired by the copper paintings that I have been developing since 2015, I am happy to introduce a collection of jewelry under the studio name Free Fall Alchemy. The work is an exploration of Sterling Silver, Antique Bronze, and Copper and endeavours to juxtapose harder geometric shapes with organic fused metal while playing with depth through textures and patinas. I have explored sand casting, water casting, cuttlefish, and vacuum casting, all with Sterling Silver and Bronze. While sand casting can utilize a wax mould numerous times, I have explored changing the variables with some of the casts to alter the outcome of each cast, making each one unique. Each piece is finished with a Liver of Sulphur patina to enhance the depth and textures and create a rustic or antique feeling in them.
